Adopted Children & Nutrition

Nutrition is not a topic I have heard talked about much when it comes to adoption and educating adoptive families.  I really think that needs to change.  Our adopted children most likely did not get the nutrition needed early in life to support good growth and brain development.

While searching for some help for my own health issues I discovered how important nutrition is to healing our bodies.  I made some significant changes in my diet and was blown away by the results. After seeing improvement in my own health I started thinking about my kids with medical needs.  I started researching their diagnosis.  I started seeing the common thread of nutrition.  Our family eats a healthy diet and we are active, I thought I was doing a great job until I realized how nutritionally bankrupt our foods are compared to 15-20 years ago. Then I started looking at the ingredients of our "healthy" foods.  YIKES!!

I am starting my children on the same nutritional program I started two months ago.  My children have enough struggles in life so I want to give them the best opportunity for growth and developmental which means making sure their nutrition is the best possible.   I will be posting the changes I am making to my kids diet and the nutrition that I will be adding.  I will be very honest about how it goes and if we see any benefits for the kids.  I will be doing a lot of research in the area too so I will be sharing what I uncover.

If you are interested in finding out more about why the food we are eating are so nutritionally bankrupt and the nutritional program I am using see below . . .
